Another very ordinary, outdated pine cabinet has had its second chance… and this time I think the tassel deserves some attention. 😄

But here’s the thing: I know the tassel is controversial. 😂
Some of you love when I add these little decorative details, and others are very much in the “TAKE IT OFF!” camp.

So… TASSEL OR NO TASSEL?

🌸 Meet “Romantic Garden” 🌸

I gave her new elegant legs, new vintage-style knobs, and dressed the whole piece in a soft, romantic floral design with delicate blue, blush and cream tones. The result is a little bit shabby chic, a little bit French, and very much romantic garden.

I’ve made a few dressers in a similar style, but the fun part is that no two are ever really the same. The original furniture is different every time — different proportions, drawer sizes, details and shapes — so even when I use a similar design idea, each finished piece becomes completely unique.

And that’s exactly what I love about giving old furniture a second chance. ❤️

This old stool got a completely new look with this gorgeous crane-patterned velour in deep, moody tones. 🪶🌿

I upholstered the seat and also dressed the sides and the curved details in the same fabric, making sure the crane pattern flows beautifully around the whole piece.

I love how the rich velour works with the original wooden frame — it still has its old character, but now with a completely new personality. 💚

Another piece given a second chance instead of being forgotten. ♻️✨

A serious rescue for this old rocking chair! 🖤

The seat needed lots of gluing, clamping, filling and sanding after years of wear (and some very hungry wood-eaters 😅). I kept as much of the original patina as possible, refreshed the tired areas, and carefully restored the original golden pattern hidden under layers of paint.

Stronger, fresher, but still full of old-world character. ✨

This vintage chest of drawers got a completely new look, with a deep bronze crane scene, elegant black detailing, and beautiful new bronze drawer pulls.

I added black stripes to the sides, alternating between matte and gloss for a subtle, sophisticated effect that catches the light.
